Modern harvesting to blame for mess

The problem with wet summers like this one is not so much the crops (as yet), but the softness of the ground, ruined if modern harvesting machines are brought onto the fields.

In the old days, harvesting was by much lighter means, which the ground could carry.

If wet summers are to be more usual for the next few decades, perhaps we should scale down our harvesters to suit.

We should learn than bigger is not always better.
