A CUMBERLAND takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Jans Lakeland Sandwich Shop, a takeaway in Keswick was given the score after assessment on March 28, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage was found to be generally satisfactory.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and buildings (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities, and pest control) to enable good food hygiene was found to be good.
The management of food safety was also found to be good.
It means that of Cumberland's 235 takeaways with ratings, 143 (61%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
