Moonwalkers’ big night of Hollywood glamour

A mother and daughter will roll out the red carpet tomorrow night to host a Night of Hollywood Glamour in aid of a breast cancer charity.
Pat and Emma Jones will be taking part in this year’s Moonwalk for Breast cancer Awareness in London this month and have organised the charity evening at St Michael’s Church Hall, Church Brough, to raise funds for the breast cancer charity.
Emma, who came up from London to help organise the event and prepare a banquet of pink food, she said: “I’ve tried to create as many pink dishes as possible, which is relatively easy for fish and meat eaters, but more of a challenge when it came to vegetarian dishes. But we have something pink and delicious to eat for all.
“The evening is as much about raising awareness of breast cancer as it is raising money. We want everyone to come along and enjoy a good evening out together and have fun while helping the cause.”
Pat, the postmistress at Brough, is currently training for her third Moonwalk.
The Eden Stars is their team – Pat, Emma and Christina Passey from Tebay.
Emma lives in London and shares a flat with Christine – both former Kirkby Stephen Grammar School students. And their London home is base for team Eden Stars next month.
Last year Pat and Emma raised £1,150, and a sponsorship form is available at Brough Post Office for anyone who wishes to support their fundraising.
Tickets for A Night of Hollywood Glamour, May 3 from 8pm to midnight, cost £10 including food.
Guests are invited to bring a bottle and tickets are available from Brough Post Office, 017683 41221.
