Meals, massages and movies in Brampton

CHILDREN’S cooking lessons, therapy sessions and art exhibitions are all on the cards at Brampton Community Centre next month.

New line-up: There Will Be Blood at Brampton Film Club in November

A new programme of events kicks off on Saturday, November 1, with Brampton Players’ youth production Acting Funny.

The play starts at 7.30pm and tickets will be on sale at the door.

An Age Concern tea dance will be held on Wednesday, November 5 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

And every Friday from November 7 to December 5, pilates classes will run from 10am until 11am.

On Tuesday, November 11, therapy centre sessions, including body massage, reiki and Indian head massage will take place from noon to 3pm.

Children and parents can learn how to make easy warming soups for winter in free cookery sessions on November 12, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Brampton Players will host their production of Relatively Speaking by Alan Ayckbourne, from November 11 to 13 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from The Gallery At Brampton or the community centre.

On Friday, November 14, local people are being asked to give blood in donor sessions from 3pm to 7.30pm.

Also on Friday, November 14, Irthing Explorers will hold a five to six-mile walk.

The group leave the centre at 9.30am. Those taking part are advised to take a packed lunch. Brampton Film Club will show the Daniel Day Lewis hit There Will Be Blood on Saturday, November 15 at 7.30pm.

On Sunday, November 16, another children’s cookery session will be held at Low Luckens Farm from 11am to 2pm. Sessions are free for older children and parents and a minibus will leave Brampton Community Centre at 10.30am. An exhibition of paintings by local artists from Brampton Arts and Crafts Club will run from November 17 to November 28, from 9am each day.

On November 17, 24 and December 1 a basic food hygiene course will be held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

A 50-plus forum meeting will be held on November 15 from 12.30pm.

On Thursday, November 20, Brampton Local History Club will meet to discuss The Riders of Renwick, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
