HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Whitehaven in November 2005.
PROPOSAL: While on holiday in Malta on September 12, 2006.
VENUE: St John’s Church, Hensingham, on September 22, 2007.
THEME: Pink and silver.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A pink Augusta Jones tulle corset dress decorated with crystals, pink veil and silver diamante tiara from I Do, of Cockermouth.
GROOMSMEN: Alan Strong, 24, was best man. Paul Bewley, Gavin Graffin, both 24, and the bride’s brother Marc Ennis, 33, were ushers. The groom’s son Nathan Payne, five, and the bride’s nephew Jordan Hetherington, eight, were page boys. They wore grey herringbone tailcoats with silver waistcoats and pink ruche ties.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Lynne Hetherington, 30, was chief bridesmaid. Gemma Denwood, 25, Andrea Little, 28, Vicky Mcluckie, 27, Julie Foster, 26, and the groom’s niece Sam Payne, 16, were bridesmaids. They wore silver veromia, strapless outfits. The bride’s niece Megan Hetherington, 11, and the bride’s cousins Rachel Blinco, eight, and Jessica Wilson, five, were flowergirls. They wore silver veromia dresses.
FLOWERS: A teardrop bouquet of pink lilies and cream roses. The bridesmaids carried pink gerbera and rose posies with crystals.
TRANSPORT: A cream Beauford and a stretch Mercedes Benz from A Touch Of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: A marquee at the Red Admiral in Gosforth for 130 guests followed by a further 70 guests for a barbecue.
TABLE SETTINGS: Goldfish bowls with stones, gerberas and floating candles with pink and silver balloons.
FAVOURS: Pink bags for the women and silver top hats with ribbon for the men. They were filled with ‘just married’ rock sweets. The bridesmaids had ‘star bridesmaid’ rock sweets.
CAKE: A three-tier fruit cake made by the bride’s aunt Linda Milburn and decorated by Tracey Clague, of Workington, with pink and silver hearts.
FIRST DANCE: Heaven (candlelit version) by DJ Sammy.
ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie nights disco of Workington.
HONEYMOON: Dubai and the Maldives. Raymond surprised Julie with a limousine to the airport.
