Store cattle

A smaller show of cattle were forward with an excellent trade throughout. All prices substantially dearer on the week.

TOTAL FORWARD Over 400

At the fortnightly sale of Beef Breeding and Store Cattle, which included a major beef herd dispersal of cows with calves at foot on behalf of Messrs S & A Scott, Church Farm.

With 50 units of mainly South Devon and Aberdeen Angus breeding cattle there were buyers from throughout the northern counties ensuring a competitive trade. Bullocks were actually up £39 on average above the previous sale selling to an excellent top price of £1,010 for Limousin bulls from Ronnie Stamper, Towncroft. Heifers sold to £848 for young top class Limousin’s from T Dixon, Wyndham Terrace.
