Returning operatic hero

Renowned tenor Mark Le Brocq has sung in some of the world’s most famous concert halls.

Next Wednesday the venue will be more intimate but the performance will be no less heartfelt. Mark is returning home for a highly anticipated appearance at St Cuthbert’s Church, Carlisle, in aid of head injuries charity Headway North Cumbria.

A principal at English National Opera, Mark has performed as a recital and oratorio soloist in the USA, France, Germany, Spain and the Middle East. He moved to Cumbria with his wife Sarah, whose family are from the county.

It will be Mark’s fifth such concert in the past six years and previous events have raised more than £20,000.

An Evening of Opera and Oratorio, Melodies and Musicals also features Charles Hattrell on piano.

Starts 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10, from 01228 525701 or on the door. Refreshments follow in the Tithe Barn.
