ARTS Out West will be taking a production of On the Black Hill to rural venues in the area next month.
The play is adapted from Bruce Chatwin’s prize-winning novel and tells the story of twins who lived all their lives on the same farm in the English/Welsh borders.
The play promises to be humorous and poignant and music will be played live on the cello during the performance.
The company has been taking their shows to village halls for many years and has performed internationally and at the Royal National Theatre in London.
Arts Out West is West Cumbria’s rural touring scheme and brings On the Black Hill to the Kirkgate Centre, Cockermouth on Wednesday, October 1 at 8pm (call 01900 826448 for details); Kirkbampton village hall on Thursday, October 2 at 7.30pm (call 01228 576405 for details) and Aikton village hall on Saturday, October 4 at 7.30pm (call 016973 45419 for details).
