No escaping Dee’s image-led message

DO YOU sleep in after the alarm goes off? Cross dress on Sundays? Smoke Gauloises and think of France?
How do Cumbrians living in the holiday capital of England escape from it all? Dee Hibbert-Jones will create a drawn archive based on answers to the question: “what is your method of escape?”
She will illustrate it in a manner reminiscent of 1950s instructional booklets, commercial logos and how-to books, with little text used and the message in the image.
The Methods of Escape project will be seen in phone booths throughout the Lake District, from Penrith to Kirkby Lonsdale, on beer mats in pubs, in shops and post offices, on a Mountain Goat bus, on a billboard in Ambleside, and on 15 stations of the Manchester to Windermere railway line.
