The event is organised by the East Cumbria Countryside Project and includes activities for all the family.

Woodland officer Iris Glimmerveen, who helped organise the event, said: “The idea behind it is for people to become more aware of trees and woodlands and how they are used in daily life.

“Talkin Tarn is an ideal location for the festival as it has woodland and good facilities.

“There is something for everybody.”

Events include a woodland inspired fashion show, organised by Grampus Heritage and Training, taking place at 12.30pm and 2pm and three organised walks.

There will also be the chance to help make a willow sculpture, see how wooden baskets and furniture is made and wooden items for sale.

Activities take place between 11am and 4pm.

Parking and entry is free.
