North’s ancestral heritage

Singer Kathryn Tickell gives a personal interpretation of the landscape, culture, people and traditions of Northumberland at The Sage Gateshead on Saturday, September 27, performing Northumbrian melodies, traditional songs and dances and spoken word.

Kathryn draws upon her memories, emotions and experiences of growing up and living in Northumbria, focussing in particular on the North Tyne Valley which plays a very significant part in Kathryn’s ancestral heritage. She will be joined by her father, Mike Tickell, (singing Northumbrian song) and by brother Peter, on fiddle and guitar. Tickets £16.50. www.thesagegateshead.org
