Classical music... with sex appeal

Dressed to kill in leather miniskirts and heels, eScala could be any girl group trying to make it big.

Classical girl group eScala who play Carlisle Live

Victoria Lyon, Izzy Johnston, Chantal Leverton and Tasya Hodges aren’t just another manufactured, only-talented-in-the-looks-department band. The girls are all classically trained musicians – graduates of the Guildhall School of Music, Royal Academy and Royal College of Music.

Fresh from the finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and signed to Simon Cowell’s own management company, the girls met while they were all part of the string section of an orchestra. The band join Boyzone and McFly for the Carlisle Live two-day music festival on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.

“We’re really looking forwards to playing Carlisle Live in August,” says Victoria. “It’s always a great experience to perform to a new audience.

“It’s a really exciting time for us. We play classically based music but with a very contemporary edge, and we’ve got a great show for Carlisle Live.”

Tickets for Carlisle Live cost £50 for the weekend; £30 - day (Saturday or Sunday); £25 - weekend (children aged 6-12); £15 - day (6-12 year olds); free - children aged five years and under. Tickets are available from www.carlislelive.co.uk
